4 months

I had my 16 week appt. on Friday. All is well, and baby#2 has a strong heartbeat of 160. I scheduled our 20 week ultrasound for July 6th. We can't wait to get a good look at our baby. We're also excited to find out if it's a girl or a boy! Mercy is doing well, growing up more everyday :)

I don't blog much anymore, since I put most of our stuff on facebook. I don't know if I'll continue this blog, but I'm definitely taking a break. If you'd like to keep up with us, you can find us on facebook!

Baby!

We are excited to announce that we are expecting baby #2! I am about two months along, due in November. We were going to wait another few weeks to announce it, but we've already told our families and a few friends, and I'm already starting to show a little. We are super excited about this new addition!

Easter

We had a busy Easter weekend! On Friday we went to the praise and worship service at our church. Then, on Saturday morning we took Mercy to our church's Easter egg hunt. She didn't really get into collecting eggs, but she had a blast running around the room, kicking balloons, and giggling.
Checking out a few eggs she collected.

Later on Saturday we dyed Easter eggs. Mercy was not interested in helping dye the eggs, so she watched and ate a snack while we dyed them for her.

Once they dried she got into decorating the eggs with stickers.

Then she had fun peeling the stickers off.

We had a good time!

Sunday morning we got all dressed up for church. Mercy loves wearing pretty dresses. After I got her dressed I took her into my room to look in the mirror. She ran up the full length mirror and yelled, "Beautiful!!"

We're ready to go!

Sunday afternoon we decorated Easter cupcakes. Mercy enjoyed putting the sprinkles on top!

And she even snuck a few sprinkles for herself! We had a blessed weekend!

18 Months Old

Wow! I just can't believe my little princess is already a year and a half old. I think time speeds up when you have kids. I thought now would be a good time to give on update on what Mercy has been up to! Oh, and of course, add some pictures! These are just a couple of pictures I snapped while she was playing in her room.

- Mercy is walking, running, climbing, and dancing! She moves fast, and it has kept me busy! I spend a lot of the day chasing her. Sometimes I'm chasing her because she wants to play her favorite game "get me", and sometimes it is because she is running off when I need her by me, ha!

- She is talking up a storm! We call her Chatty Cathy sometimes because she just gets going. She speaks in sentences now, and we understand almost all of what she says, though we expect other people probably do not. We were walking down the toy aisles in Target the other day, shopping for a birthday gift. She kept pointing to toys saying, "Momma likes this!" (a not so sneaky way of trying to get me to buy her toys!). She likes to describe what she sees and what she is playing with.

- Mercy is learning how to do somersaults. She mostly just stands on her head and falls to the side, but she thinks it is a great trick! When she is all done doing somersaults, she always says, "No salt!"

- She loves playing outside, especially at the park. She requests "slides" almost everyday. Yesterday she got brave enough to go down the slide all by herself! She also loves to swing. At home, she plays with her bucket and shovel outside, or her ball, or she just wanders around. We'll be getting her a swing set by summertime, I think!

- Mercy is learning some letters and numbers. She says the "ABC" part of the alphabet song and can identify a handful of letters. She loves playing with a her set of foam alphabet letters in the bathtub and with her Leapfrog phonics game. Mercy can count to two- she often puts two toys in front of her and counts, "one, two...two toys!". She also knows that five comes after four, though she can't count to five yet...she just shouts five as soon as I say four when we are counting.

- On of her favorite things to do is what we call room time. She asks for it every morning. It's pretty simple- she just plays in her room by herself. She loves it! So do I! She listens to bible songs, looks at books, and plays with her toys for about 45 minutes every morning.

- Her favorite toys right now are her stuffed animals and her Fisher Price Little People. She LOVES Little People!

- She is still our little book lover. The girl can sit through 60 page books and still want to read more! She gets read to many, many times during the day. Her favorite book to look at right now is the National Audubon Society Guide to the Pacific Northwest, ha! She loves to look at the pictures of animals.

- She is a girly girl! She asks to have her hair done up in "hair bows" (pigtails or pony tail with bows) every day. She loves wearing jewelry and dresses. She likes to sit on the counter and watch me put on makeup. She'll often ask for a cotton ball, and will look in the mirror and pretend to put on makeup like her mama. She hates spiders. She asks, "No spiders?" several times a day, just to be reassured that there aren't any in the house. Though she doesn't mind them outside.

Picture Post #2

We took Mercy to the zoo in Tacoma last weekend while the weather was warm. She was taking a break from looking at animals. She loved the sandbox! It was her first time playing in one.
Taking a food break at the zoo. You can see the Sound out behind us. Such a beautiful place!
Munching her food and snuggling Daddy!

Stopping to give me one of her 'smiles'. She just loved the zoo!

Mercy was mesmerized by the underwater viewing areas of the zoo. She loved watching the fish swim by in the aquarium along with the sea otters, seals, and walruses.

We often take Mercy to the park in Eatonville. Her favorite thing to do is watch the 'big' kids run around. She'll scream when they scream, and try to run when they run. I can tell that she can't wait to be 'big'!

Here she is, watching those big kids go by! Doesn't she look wistful?

Her next favorite thing at the park is the slides. Whenever we tell her we're going to the park, she says, "weee slides!".

Sometimes she enjoys riding the rocking horses at the park too. Mostly she likes giving them kisses, rather than riding them :)

Picture Post

Mercy LOVES wearing her hair in pigtails, but she really loves hair bows and sparkly headbands. She asked to wear this one specifically!
Doesn't she look like she got caught doing something she shouldn't be? Ha!

This is the face she gives me now when I tell her to smile. I love it!

Mercy's Granny (Tyson's mom) came for a visit earlier this month.

Mercy had great fun playing with her Granny and the Lamb Chop puppet she brought!

Mercy and Granny playing with Mercy's kitchen.

Mercy and I were looking for the river otters that live in the pond at our local park.

Hanging out with her Daddy!

Mercy giving big kisses. So sweet!

Ready for church!

Before we take Mercy outside to play, we put these overalls over her clothes. It can get a little muddy here during the winter, and these keep her dry and clean!

Mercy loves playing outside. She always asks for "outside ball!".

Mercy and her daddy have fun together outside.

She even likes it when he throws the ball at her head!

Here are some long awaited pictures. I have a lot, so I may have to make this two posts!

Too long

I know, it has been too long since I've posted anything, especially more pictures of my Mercy girl. However, we have been busy, and I've been working on my graduate thesis. Despite that, I intend to update with some pictures soon. I have a whole smattering of pictures that I need to upload!
