13 Weeks

13 weeks and starting to look chubby! I have put on about three pounds, but boy has my body shifted and changed. Tyson asked me, "Are you wearing the same shirt as last time?" For the record, it is NOT the same shirt...though it is the same style, just a different color!
The baby rolled a bit for this picture, but we can see its body, from head to toe.
This profile of the baby's face cracks us up. The way the dark and light shadows play make it look like it has eyebrows and very distinct features!

Yea! I am officially into the second trimester this week. We had an appointment and ultrasound with my obgyn today. She said everything looks great! The baby did some rolling, kicking, and waving for us during the ultrasound. Our next appointment is April 25th. I'll be about 17 weeks at that point, which is far enough along to determine the gender of the baby!

I am happy to be moving into the second trimester and to be leaving behind the symptoms of the first trimester. I am sad to say that I think I'll be giving up my size seven jeans pretty soon, as they are now uncomfortable even with the button undone...oh, well! It will be nice to look pregnant and not just chubby, but I know that stage will come soon enough. So far this pregnancy has been pretty easy on me, and we're enjoying every moment!

Playing at the Park

Moose loves playing fetch, especially when he has plenty of space to run.
Our Moose is such a handsome lab! See the grass sticking out of his mouth? He may be handsome, but he is still a dorky lab....just our style!

He was distracted by some boys playing basketball....but he was a good dog and didn't run off to join them.
Moose needed a break after running hard and choking on some grass he got caught in his mouth. He is a bit of a goober!
Aww....my handsome guys!

12 Weeks

Today I officially hit the 12 week mark in this pregnancy. As you can see, I don't have a proper baby bump yet, and I'm sure I won't for quite a while yet. Right now I just look a little pudgy! The pregnancy seems to be going well, and I feel great, despite having been privy to some of the more common first trimester symptoms.

My next doctor visit is a week from today, at 13 weeks. I'm excited to get another ultrasound. I appreciate being able to see inside and check on the baby....I am a bit of a worrier, and I'll be glad to peek in and see that all is well as I enter into the second trimester. Besides, it is just so much fun to see how much the baby has changed and to watch it kick around!

Baby News!

We are excited to announce that we are expecting our first baby! I am over 2 1/2 months pregnant, and our little bean is due around Oct. 4th. We are doing great, and are grateful that the Lord has blessed us with this little one!
The baby is hanging upside down in this ultrasound from around 9 weeks. We were able to see it's heartbeat going strong, and it even wiggled around a bit for us!

One Small Accomplishment

Some folks already know that I (Tyson) have been in the Bachelor's program at Columbia Evangelical Seminary. I am happy to be able to (finally!) say that I am finished! Last week I received my Bachelor of Theology (Th.B.).

If for no other reason, I'm pretty happy about it because now I'll have time to read something other than school books!

Our DC trip

OK, I know that all three of the people who read this blog have been anxiously awaiting the update from our trip to Washington, DC. Sadie and I had a great time on this short trip. I was working in the area the first few days we were there, but after that we had a few days to be tourists. We saw just about everything you can in such a short time.

Below is a sampling of the many professional quality photos that we brought back with us!
