Tyson's family has been nominated for two awards this year by the IBMA (that's the International Bluegrass Music Association, for the uninitiated). The entire group is up for Entertainers of the Year (again), which they won the year before last as well. The other nomination is Cia, for Banjo Picker of the Year.
The award show is tomorrow night in Nashville (Thursday, Oct. 4th) at 9pm ET. For those of us who can't make it to Nashville, the miracle of satellite radio lets us still follow the awards live. It will be broadcast on XMRadio. I don't subscribe to XM Radio myself, but with a bit up planning I usually can do OK by getting the free trial internet streaming long enough to catch the awards show. Naturally we'll hope to hear them win. They also have promised a special performance during the show that should be fun.
